Aslan Karatsev has surprised many by finding form here Bastad. He has now won two matches in a row for the first time since the Australian Open in January this year. He has struggled all season since the Australian Swing, however he has able to serve well and find winners consistently against Lorenzo Sonego and Hugo Gaston.
Francisco Cerundolo was also struggling for form coming into Bastad and also lost some friendly matches in the Bundesliga Tennis tournament prior to this week. After beating Ruud, Cerundolo will be in cloud nine and he is more consistent than Karatsev.
