Barcelona will train their guns on the Europa League when they welcome Manchester United to Camp Nou in what is easily the tie of the round of 16. The Catalan giants are the runaway leaders in La Liga having opened up an 11-point gap at the summit of the table with a 1-0 win away at Villarreal at the weekend. They were eliminated from a tough Champions League Group C after finishing 3rd behind Bayern and Inter Milan but they certainly enter the lower-tier Europa League as one of the favorites to win it all.

Manchester United have been doing brilliantly themselves. A run of 14 wins in their last 17 matches has seen them storm into the EPL title race as a dark horse to possibly challenge Arsenal and Man City. They were in the Europa League from the start though and finished 2nd in Group E behind Real Sociedad. The Red Devils’ brilliant form however makes them a threat against just about anyone.

Given the stakes at play here, we expect a close opening half with neither team ceding too much ground. Both teams have been solid defensively and we expect that to come out here. However, we fancy the game to open up in the second as legs get weary. As such we are backing more goals to feature in the 2nd half as compared to the 1st.
